Patti Leal from Winter Spring, Florida made this adorable sampler mini-quilt in shades of blue and rose. Three Sunbonnet Sues, a star, Log Cabin, and a star block are surrounded by a brick border giving it a wonderful "homey" look. It is machine-quilted in the ditch around the blocks. Straight quilting lines bisect the border. Buttons add detail to each block and are used as visual cornerstones between the sashing strips. This 17" x 22" quilt has a machine-applied binding that is stitched down by hand.
What a perfect wall hanging or doll quilt. (You'll need to add a sleeve to hang it.)
Way to go, Patti!
This doll quilt was successfully auctioned in November 2004 at the annual Lead in the Holidays event benefitting Leader Dogs for the Blind.
